Your hosts
We came back to the Sierra.
Who we are
We're Noelia and Sergio. We live in the house just below this one with our daughter. I work remotely as a software developer from here thanks to the Starlink antenna. Noelia has worked in HR for the last few years and will now be focused on giving you the best possible care so your stay is a great one.
How we ended up here
My roots are in the Sierra de Albarracín. We grew up coming up here every summer — there was even a year we spent the whole twelve months here. Together with Noelia, I realised this was the place where I wanted to settle, so I decided to renovate the house and open it up so you can enjoy it the same way we do.
Casa de la Hoz is our way of sharing this place with anyone who comes to discover it.
We welcome you in person, give you a short tour of the house and answer your questions — the route, sierra recommendations tailored to your tastes, whatever you need. If anything comes up during your stay, we're here for you.
House rules · Let's care for this place
Simple rules, out of respect for everyone.
The house, the neighbours and, above all, the gorge. We ask you to look after them with the same intention we look after this place ourselves.
Inside the house
- 01
No smoking indoors
It's a wooden house and the smell lingers. If you fancy a smoke, step out onto the terrace and pick up the butt.
- 02
A place to unwind, not to party
This house is for enjoying the nature and calm of the gorge. If you're after a party with loud music all night, it's not your place.
On the trail
- 01
Stay on the path
Walk on the metal walkways and marked paths. No shortcuts, and the gorge stays as wild and beautiful as you found it.
- 02
Leave no trace
No paper, no plastic, no cigarette butts, no peels. Use the bins at the start of the trail.
- 03
Leave it 1% better
If you ever carry out a bit of litter that isn't yours, thank you from the heart. Looked after together, this spot stays open and beautiful.
The Barranco de la Hoz is free and open to all. For it to stay that way, we have to look after it.
